Please be responsible during Kung Flu
My son and I being responsible and wearing our COVID-19 masks to go grocery shopping. Masks are courtesy of the Canadian government in 1944. I knew if I kept them long enough, they would come in handy. Publix didn't say anything, but the bank asked us to remove them.
Hey, a mask is a mask.

Hey, when this first blew up I was wearing my N99 paint mask complete with organic filters. You want to talk about strange looks. Remember that I am in NJ where it took off fast and furious and any kind of mask was impossible to find. That was back when they first were saying that a mask was not necessary. Anybody with any common sense knew better.

I remember back in April or so, we went to Home Depot to purchase some paper masks for sand blasting and painting. They laughed at us and pointed us to their empty aisle of filter masks. We weren't thinking pandemic yet, we just want to work on some vehicles. They are in stock now, but they ain't as cheap as they were.

During the early part of the epidemic, I was also having trouble finding masks. So I had to break out my medieval plague doctor outfit for personal protection.
I don't recall getting any strange looks though

Re: Please be responsible during Kung Flu
The wife sent me for take-out last night so, I hopped in the car and headed over there. In a parking lot on der Hauptstrasse (our community fancies themselves as being mainly German though we have now been taken over by upwardly mobile professionals) there was a tiny little car show. One of the car clubs in town was pushing back against el Rona! Not a lot of people there, or cars for that matter, but by golly there they were with their easy-up tents, folding chairs, coolers, banners and flags, all masked up and showing their cars to other people who were also masked up. Niiiiice.
There is hope for us yet, folks. Just keep doing the right things and we'll get through this and back on track.
Cheers,
TJ
