Rick's smashed finger
It could have been a whole lot worse !!! It could have been MY finger
Re: Rick's smashed finger
I have mentioned in the past my disdain for most cheap Chinese tools. Ratchet straps fit into that category but I don't think you will find any American made ones. The ratchet section let go on this one as I was releasing it. If you have a ratchet strap that is tight be sure to wear good gloves when releasing it, you never know what will happen.

Re: Rick's smashed finger
Well, Lets just say it is a well used finger for expressing myself in certain circumstances. Actually the same one I smashed and broke about 6 years ago.

Re: Rick's smashed finger
Damn, bro...that looks painful.
However, I'll see your smash and raise you some bloody fun. On saturday, I was sanding some burrs off the edge of my radiator shroud before i reinstalled it (long story) and i decided to check the edge for said burrs...not realizing that i'd basically created a razor sharp edge with my grinder. Cut me halfway to bone before i ever felt it. Let's just say that after my wife got done dressing me down for getting blood all over the garage i put down the sander and picked up a beer (or three).
I love this hobby!

Re: Rick's smashed finger
Yea, that is sort of like grabbing that rusted bolt you just heated up to get out of the block, you KNOW it is hot. You KNOW not to grab it, your brain is telling you the whole time do NOT grab that bolt and you go and grab the bolt. Then you cuss and say all kinds of nasty things, grab a beer and start heating up the next rusty bolt....................................
Yea, been there, done that, got the scars. Also got the same scars you are gonna have for the same reasons, not on a shroud but same principal.

Re: Rick's smashed finger
I'm thinkin', without his 'talkin' finger', Rick isn't gonna have much to say.
Re: Rick's smashed finger
Oh I can still "talk" just fine, don't you worry about that.

Here's some advice for all you folks who intend to ring Rick to commiserate.
Don't 'phone him when he's doing the ironing

Hooflex. Tractor Supply has it. If you've ever owned a horse or two you know of its magical qualities.
