Unless the signal lights were removed on purpose... Looks to me that the first image may be a straight still in service in 1969. The image with the soldier minesweeping on Route 1 also appears to be a straight in-country as of 1967.

I think they still had straights there when I was there in 71.I don't remember seeing turn signals on some of them and I always remember how that caught my attention. They did not take them out of service if they still ran and moved. Sometimes I think stopping was optional.I never rode in them, I flew over them. :roll:
