G838 Manuals

Unread post by attackpilot » May 14th, 2020, 9:40 am

Mods:

Please forgive me if this is a known issue, but it appears the links for all the manuals (at least the several I tried to access) are not currently working.

You are correct! I just tried and they are not linking. I will bring this to the attention on my IT guy right away but it may be a few days before he gets to it. Thanks for pointing it out.

I think there is a problem with the manuals and wiki, Rick's been trying to upgrade the site.

Rick is probably aware but in case anyone is looking for a manual in the meantime, you can always try the Wayback Machine...

I am going to put you on the staff! The only thing is the manual downloads from the site are SSL protected, I don't know about the stuff from Wayback?
I know Steel Soldiers has most of the manuals and if you are not a member there check out Pedro's. http://www.pedros.cz/mutt.php

Thanks, y'all! Figured this had to do with the site update. I'm sitting at work with nothing to do but research my next mechanical conundrum on the MUTT. Helicopter EMS is so much more than Earning Money Sleeping!

I figured Heli EMS would have you going non-stop right about now.

My advice is to download them all and store them on your computer. Then burn them to CD. I have hard copies of the 20 and 34 manuals, but most of the time I print out the pages I want so I don't get them greasy when I am working on my rig.

I'd have thought so, too. Flight volume nationwide in the industry has gone down about 90%. People are scared to go to the hospital, so our usual strokes, heart attacks, non-compliant diabetics, dialysis patients, etc... Not happening so much anymore. They think people are just staying home and dying, because they're afraid of the virus. Regular business has slowly started to tick up again in the past week.

I'm going to have to go the download route. I have hard copies of a lot of the manuals out in my shop, but just like my Chilton's manuals, they end up spotted in greasy fingerprints and blood.

This is a complete and total sidebar comment but still on the topic of manuals...

If you want a real treat and a cool insight into the yesteryear of wrenching, pop over to ebay and pick up an old Motor's Auto Repair Manual.

There are many, many volumes and they are hardbound but they have a wealth of information in them, specific to the automotive year of publication.

I lucked into a couple of volumes for free and if you are a real gearhead, they are just a whole lot of fun to paw through.

Cheers,
TJ

If you want to learn about a REAL engine I have an original 1932 Ford repair manual for the flathead V8. Nobody wants these books anymore, anyone born after 2000 doesn't know how to read from paper anyway.  They don't understand you have to move your eyes, not your thumbs!!!
