The only thing I'd like to see is support for embedding Instagram photos and posts. For now, I've been able to link to the posts in my account, but as others have stated, seeing the photos in the forums is pure gold. I don't know the technical aspects that go into allowing IG imbedding, (or perhaps I'm just doing it wrong!), but whatever coding is required to allow this and other mediums to be embedded is the only thing I would add or change.
It can be done! Read this... https://newscrewdriver.com/2018/07/18/e ... ut-plugin/

Example from above site. Click on the image to go to IG post... Image

Code: Select all

Test two from random IG m151 post I found...

Image

Code: Select all

As you can see from the coding all you need to change is the post specific letters and numbers in two places. In this case I changed BfryG0VnUmF to B-4q1Bzh0Dn.

You sir, are awesome! Thanks for the coding lesson. I never learned more than HTML, and was of course, doing it wrong!

Now to go back and edit my old posts to get the pictures added back in...

Let me go back and clarify my earlier post. The main thing that pulled me away from this site was the photoF__ckit issue. I tried to go back and reload the photos, using a number of other ways, but the time and confusion on what I had previously added in just frustrated me to no end. As many of you know, I have restored 8 M151 series vehicles over the past 6 years. There were a lot of posts I initiated, with a lot of pictures of my projects. I gave up trying to recover my photos, got busy with my projects, and stopped visiting the site as much as before..... Yeah, OK.... full discloser, Judy and I spent the last two years traveling the world. I could often log on, but the woman had me walking all over Africa, Europe, and the Caribbean... so bed time came early. Now we're confined to the Paradise Compound here in Jupiter Florida.

I believes many others felt the same frustration, and over time, many seemed to have drifted away. I see fewer and fewer posts now.

Several social media sites, like FaceBook, have had a surge of M151 related pages developed. They have a significant following, and seem to have a lot of interesting posts. The obvious down side to them is that they cannot be indexed to allow us to search for specific topics. I like the way the G838 is laid out.

Rickf is correct in resisting the temptation to charge a membership fee. MVP charges a reasonable membership fee, but I keep forgetting to pay the renewal, and get dropped. Other sites do the same, and have the same issues.

Edit, nevermind :D I found some of your pictures on the backup I made of the site. I'll make them available for download and send you a link shortly.

I have the files that Surveyor sent me and all of the photo's are on it but the problem I have is they are not as easy to find as just go to that post and look at them. On the files they are just a file name, 1234.img. There are over a thousand of them on that drive he sent me! I really want to restore all of the pictures to the original posts but I have NO idea how when they are not in any order that I can figure out.
