Rick, That may be true but typically frames and hardware arent good shape paint wise.
As a result painting them the color of the vehicle makes more sense.

This is true but we are talking about a M151 right? Other than undercarriage I have never seen one other than green or camo in which case the door frames are still green. Unless it is civilianized.

Have no idea what iteration if 151 he is discussing but if you are concerned with appearance the a finish that matches the rest of the vehicle makes the most sense to me.

I thought I saw some door frames in sand colour along with the tan 606 vinyl top, doors and curtains when these were all the rage several years ago. Unless they were painted 606 when vehicle owners decided to change the colour of the frames from green to tan to match their newly-acquired vinyl.

I have two complete sets, one NOS one ?? both Green. My guess they came that way, but if\when I paint my rig, they will match. Suspect same in the field.

I have several sets of sand tan door frames and curtain rods, NOS in the packaging, so they did come in that color as well. all i have ever seen are green and tan. Never seen black ones, but, its YOUR jeep. Do what makes you happy.

Well, I was not thinking about the sand color. Not one of my favorites and way after my time but if you are painting it sand color then the frames should match. But I can tell you from living on a base for years that anything goes when it comes to mixing sand and green. Whatever they can scavenge when they need it then it goes on regardless of color.
