Re: m151 proerty diposal
Here's a true story regarding demil that should make your head explode. At several of the DRMO Local Sales at Letterkenny Depot, where M151s were actively being demilled (this was during one of the late addendums to the demil order where the suspension arms and driveshafts had to be cut and left there as scrap) there were multiple lots of new M151A2 Suspension Arms and Drive Shafts on the auction block that day. No demil required; bid it, win it, pay it, load and go. What a system!
My Southern CA friends tell me that there were also many crated new bodies sold out of Barstow, at local sales, while demil was ongoing, on a large scale, at the same location.
There's also the story of an Ohio MV dealer that bought an M718 (Sealed Bid sale) from Letterkenny, picked it up on his way to Ocean City Md for vacation and dropped it off at it's new owners place in new Jersey along the way. It was apparently sold as it wasn't an M151, it was an M718, and it was sold with an SF97.
Some time later, the DRMO contacted him wanting their vehicle back. He told them that he sold it to some random guy during his travels and had no idea who it was.

I am pretty sure I worked on that 718! It was fully complete and that pretty much matches what he told me about how he got it. Unfortunately he sold it for a very low amount and I just did not have it at the time.

Direct evidence the DLA wasn't doing their job, and I'm glad they were dishonest.
