Wanted Brass Fuel Fitting
I am looking for the correct brass 90 degree fuel fitting for the A1 that connects the small inline filter to the carburetor. Alan

Re: Wanted Brass Fuel Fitting
Alan, Be aware that if that carburetor has had the filter screwed directly into it like so many of them have then the correct adapter may no longer fit. The original thread in the carb is a straight thread a is the adapter with a sealing nut and plastic dealing washer. The threads on the filter are the same thread count BUT they are tapered pipe thread, This opens the hole up and makes it a very loose fit for the original adapter. If the filter is threaded into the carb too tight it will split the body of the carb, sen that many times.

Re: Wanted Brass Fuel Fitting
Alan, you won't find that one...... it's 30 degrees not 90 !SturmTyger380 wrote:I am looking for the correct brass 90 degree fuel fitting for the A1 that connects the small inline filter to the carburetor. Alan
For reference, the elbow is 4730-00-006-4005 and the locknut is 4730-00-832-5670.
UPDATE: This is for the A2-series - not the A1 as requested !!!

Re: Wanted Brass Fuel Fitting
Ken, The fitting for the A1 is 90 degrees and the A2 is 30 degrees. The A1 comes in from a 90 degree angle below and from the side.

Re: Wanted Brass Fuel Fitting
I will have to take a photo of what I have. The line comes up from the A2 pump in front of the engine and goes to this vintage glass bowl carter fuel filter. The input to the filter points to the front and the outlet goes to a straight brass fitting that goes into the carby. So you think there might be a chance the straight brass fitting might have created issues?
You can kinda see what I have in this picture:

Re: Wanted Brass Fuel Fitting
I would say probably yes, That fitting is most likely pipe thread. If it is not threaded in to tightly then you will be alright but if it was really cranked in there then there will not be enough good thread for the adapter fitting to grab. I assume you are going back to the A1 pump setup coming out on the drivers side?

Re: Wanted Brass Fuel Fitting
It may be incorrect but changing it to the proper A2 30 degree fitting means that you would have to rebend the fuel line and it just might not be worth it.
As Rick says dont overtighten things to stop leaks.
Happy Motoring!

Alan & Rick, sorry, my mistake. I immediately thought of the A2 elbow, should have read the original message properlyrickf wrote:Ken, The fitting for the A1 is 90 degrees and the A2 is 30 degrees. The A1 comes in from a 90 degree angle below and from the side.
