Close. It could easily be massaged into the right profile. I think it may be an M31 pedestal. Somebody would pony up some dough for the gun mount, I'm sure but, I wouldn't want to see it on a MUTT. The cup on the top looks suspect. An aluminum repro perhaps?

I will say that I have the proper pedestal base for this. It could be cut down and my base added. I believe that would make it correct for the MUTT. Darned thing is in Connecticut, though...so the shipping would be a huge headache....which is why I didn't grab it.

to the best of my knowledge, the only pedestal mount i remember seeing on our gun jeeps was the M4 type. it was set up for M60's. i never saw a 50 cal mounted on an M151 due to the vibration factor, the thin sheet metal floor and the absence of a solid frame to support it. that's not to say that some GI somewhere didn't do it, though. we all have seen field mods that would never get OK'd officially.
