Unread post by pvtwinger » August 21st, 2019, 2:26 pm

FOR SALE: **SOLD** 1972 AM General M151A2 - $18,000

**SOLD**

Excellent condition, UNCUT, absolutely no rust, none, nada, zilch, and no rust repairs ever done. All body panels straight with no damage. Engine starts easily, runs and drives great. Transmission shifts easily. Very clean engine, engine compartment, and under-carriage. Paint appears to be original, but I don't know for sure. Clear PA title. Located in eastern PA.

Can be seen at 2019 Redball Military Vehicle Show & Swap Meet in Gilbert, PA.

Photos link below (More photos available upon request)

There were several people advertising that they were looking for exactly that vehicle and yet nobody contacts you about yours? Sometimes I wonder?

Yeah, I wonder too. Maybe they want somewhat of a project vehicle to work on, not one that is basically turnkey. That's my only guess.

I'll jump in here and offer my $.02.

IMO, you're exactly right. I've had an absolute ball restoring my A2. Mine was uncut and virtually rust free, but other than that, it was a hot mess with lots of things that needed refurbishment or outright replacement.

Bottom line, when i bought mine, i was looking for a restoration project to occupy my mind, but not a rust bucket that required a bunch of sheet metal work...and i know i wouldn't have been as happy getting a turn-key truck delivered and ready for me to drive to the VFW spaghetti dinner on Saturday night.

I've done a ton of research i wouldn't have otherwise done, met some really nice men that have helped in that research, met folks that have literally given their own time/effort to bend metal and paint on my behalf, learned some automotive repair tricks i didn't already know, and have enjoyed walking the internet from one side to the other looking for hard-to-find parts and getting decent deals on them.

In short, its been almost therapeutic for me. My body started breaking down and i retired from the Army sooner than i would have liked, so the hobby has kept me close to the service in some way, and brings guys like me/us together for a common goal to keep history alive. I'm just not sure it would have had the same positive impact on me if i had bought a turn-key truck.

Let's not knock the guys who are willing to roll up their sleeves and put some sweat equity into their vehicles.

I have the perfect truck for a couple of guys who are shopping right now but until my half track is ready to roll, they can't have it!

Cheers,
TJ

There was a Vietnamese guy looking for one hard, he was calling every ad that had been posted in the last three years and some even earlier than that. I think people were not answering him due to his nationality but on one post I noticed his return e-mail was a surgeons e-mail. Don't judge people by name alone.

Acudanut is looking for that exact one also and there were two others. I will try to find the posts.

If I sell my 62, I will get an A2. :D

Actually I was talking about him contacting Pvt. Winger. And how I know about it is just by following the posts. who is selling and who is looking. This way when people ask I can put them together.

Here is the thread with him contacting pvtwinger about his A2. No shenanigans, all out there in the open.

Yep, he contacted me, asked if it was still available, and I replied back to him that it was. Never heard back from him...another tire-kicker

Gotta love it. He wanted to buy every one that was for sale for the last 7 years regardless of whether the thread said it was sold or not. You would figure he would jump on a fully restored one.
I can fully understand specifying a particular year and model, I can understand specifying cut or uncut and I can understand specifying a section of the country or whole country to buy from but when you want to specify that you want that particular year and model and you want it uncut (Rare for that year A2) and you want it in a particular not too rusty unrestored condition............... Man! that is really asking a lot. It is also opening the door for a world of disappointment if that person is not ready to personally go and inspect each and every one of the ones he is interested in because the chances of finding one in that particular condition and year, especially since it specifies a Ford A2, is gong to be like finding the PIN in the haystack. The needle was easy.

Me too winger. I would buy yours, but not enough saved up for a perfect A2 Jeep.
