New to MUTTs...

Unread post by rjonesiv » March 6th, 2019, 12:21 am

I was recently given a 1964 M151A1. It’s basically a shell. No motor, transmission or transfer case. Needs a new wiring harness, amongst other odds and ends. I super excited to get this project under way and I appreciate this site. Tons of information. I’m an 82nd Airborne veteran, having served from 1996-1999. For all of those here who have served, thank you for your service and for those who have not served but are preserving these military vehicles, thank you for your interest and time spent on military history. The best help you can receive on this site usually begins with sharing detailed pictures of your truck with the group. Those pics often generate a great deal of commentary regarding what may be the best direction for you to go with your particular truck, many tips and even some tricks.

Go here for 'how to' instructions for posting pics -

See if you can find anyone nearby home that can advise you onsite.

Welcome, I see you are from Louisiana, We went from one person to tree or four in a couple months. You will probably be hearing from Surveyor as I believe he is from that area. Pictures are good. The very first place to look at is the underneath and see how bad the rust is down there.

Ok, I’m on some other forums that are really upfront and easy to use. I can’t seem to find out how to post pictures of my A1. Additionally, I find it difficult to add new posts. I was, obviously, to make a post before. Now, I’m only able to reply with text and not any images

You have to use an online photo service, most of us use Postimage. I am working on something like the other sites use but we are a small site that if you notice does not have ads flashing all over the place. The full price of the site is paid by the owner. We used to have a donation button but nobody used it. To get the photo feature were you can just post to the site is generally about 100 plus dollars a year more.

If you are talking about starting a new thread all you have to do is go to the forum section you want to post in, say "General" and in the top left you will see a button that says "New topic".

iP Coating...

I’ve been looking at your site for some time now. My buddy, who’s restoring an A2, has bought many parts from you guys. I’ve seen the parts when he receives them and they are top notch! Awesome works! I will be ordering once I get this project under way.
