Re: Greetings I just need some confirmation on sometime

GL-5 without the MT-1 additive will eat the yellow metal. The brass synchros and bushings. I think all of the major companies have solved the problem many years ago but I just use GL-4 or earlier.

Re: use your rim holes to secure

HUH? If anything at all you could loosen the lifting eye but that could happen on any corner. The "PROPER" way to tie down the vehicle is with tire slings. https://www.uscargocontrol.com/products/car-carrier-tire-holder-basket-strap-w-swivel-hooks-ratchet?gclid=CjwKCAjwoNuGBhA8EiwAFxomA_Ll...

Re: Help me ID/resolve clutch issue

Ok, Very eloquently put. BUT, This is not a shop working on a profit margin. It is a forum where I am working on diagnosing vehicles based ONLY on what I am told by the person on the other end of the conversation. So, when I ask them to do something in particular I have a plan in mind for where the ...

Re: Flywheel Gasket

I agree, If you seal that gasket up, and put in the fording plug, you will drown the clutch in oil. It sounds like the rear main has gone out. Does this vehicle have a fording valve and is it in the open position? If it is closed for any length of time it will cause a leak at the rear main and also ...

Re: Help me ID/resolve clutch issue

You are misreading what I said. I never advocate throwing new parts at a problem as a solution. The problem has to be found before new parts are put in the mix. In this case you are not going to find the problem with what you are doing, you are just going to make the problem worse. You now know the ...

Re: m151a2 will not turn over or power on

The very first rule of diagnosis is to start at the beginning and methodically work your way through to the end. Do not jump around on the process or you will be chasing your tail forever and you will miss simple things. As you have found out. The military manuals are written so that just about any ...

Re: Help me ID/resolve clutch issue

Pilot bearing could be binding hard. It will not hold the power of the engine but it will let you know it is bound up. Eventually it will tear up the input shaft of the transmission if you keep trying this and that is the problem. My personal opinion is pull the transmission before more damage is do...

Re: Help me ID/resolve clutch issue

Yes, you can plug that line and it will act like any other carburetor from the last 70 years. And no, it will not blow up from the pressure! The pressure will still never rise about the limit set by the pump.

Re: Help me ID/resolve clutch issue

Just put a 1/8" pipe plug in that vapor return fitting and that will solve the gas return issue. It is not needed and will not cause any issues.

Re: Graves Mt Rally 2021

I doubt I will be able to do it again this year. The motor home just needs more than I am willing to put into it. I was going to work on it but the tires have doubled in price and that was the deal breaker. I cannot afford a cabin.

Re: Help me ID/resolve clutch issue

Even if it breaks loose it is going to have to be replaced and the transmission splines and pilot bearing addressed. It may get you around the yard if it breaks loose but I would not give it long to live on the road.

Re: m151a2 will not turn over or power on

The only thing that slave cable port is hooked to is the batteries, nothing else. Unless bubba has played with it there should not be any other wires hooked to that connection either. The #5 wire that supplies the power to the vehicle is hooked to the starter switch under the floor. I have mentioned...
