Re: RPM with automotive multimeter

You are going to use a multimeter to get rpm or dwell? I am a bit confused.

Re: M151 A1 69 .... a new sunrise

If it has an A2 style puck clutch then yes, it will be aggressive just like you describe. As far as the compression, I believe you said this motor was bought used and sat for a while? I would run it for a month or so and check the compression again. The cylinders may have been a little rusty and the...

Re: RPM with automotive multimeter

You can use either battery as long as you go between the posts on that battery only. Never go from battery positive to body ground to get 12 volts.

Re: Anyone have a 5-69 M151?

69 is the last year for the A1, I don't know what the numbers made were that year, I know there seem to be about 65 million 67's.

Re: RPM with automotive multimeter

Your automotive tach/dwell meter is 12 volts I am sure. You can take that nut off of the distributor cap and find a suitable probe to go down there and touch the coil post. But you will be zapping it with 24 volts. I don't think the meter is going to like that. If you really want to know the RPM exa...

Re: RPM with automotive multimeter

Francesco, remember that you are working with 24 volts and all of the automotive equipment I know of is 12 volt. You can do timing by hooking the light to a separate battery in another car or a lawn tractor and using an old auto spark plug wire with the ends cut off and jammed into the distributor a...

Re: Fire Vulnerability

Even with the tank nearly empty the only thing in there is gasoline and gasoline vapor, there is no oxygen so if there were a spark there would be no fire or explosion. NOW, With the M-151 with that HUGE gas fill opening. If you had the gas cap off and the pump sparked I am sure things would get rea...

He has a black plate from CA. And I know my back country, I can't count how many times I have been there, but it has been 25 years now ;) Where ever he comes from, I am missing my trips to the States. It's been now one year since I worked on my school bus, cursed about the failing smoke checks on m...

Re: Old school jeep video

Horst, it has Washington plates on it so West coast but a bit north of there. The very first thing I thought of was that I would have changed the springs to a more modern style with more, thinner tapered leaves. That way you get the same height but a MUCH nicer ride.

Re: Beverly Hillbillies

66 was getting pretty late for the T-bird with the standard shift but I doubt it was "The only one". I know of three 64's with factory four speeds and 390's. That one should have had a 390 with the four speed. I have seen them with a 428 in them but not often. Here are the specs for the 66, 64-66 we...

And I deleted him! He registered way back in 7/19 before the 10 post rule was put into effect. Now you see why I had to do that.
