Re: M718A1 restoration

So I can chime in on the Bher paint. My Ferret is painted with it. On the plus side, it’s is durable and easy to get. It’s also easy to touch up. Bad side, make sure you prime everything that chips before touch up. It’s water based paint and it will cause rust on bare steel before it dries out. Also...

Re: flashlight bracket

I have seen pics where they are stuck on the defroster vents. Not issued to go there but that's where I have mine on the ambulance.

M3A1 Scout Car project

I know its not a Mutt but thought some folks may like to see it. It's a 1942 Lot 5 M3A1 White Scout Car. Needs pretty much everything and will take a while to get right! http://i904.photobucket.com/albums/ac243/endust722/20180121_104809.jpg http://i904.photobucket.com/albums/ac243/endust722/20180121...

Re: M718 ?? exhaust extension For sale SOLD!!!

I have never seen that before. The holes from one version don't even line up with the holes from the other. That's a great thing to notice because they don't look at all cross compatible. I have only seen a few 718's in person over the years but I haven't seen that support type on any of them. John ...

Re: M718 ?? exhaust extension For sale SOLD!!!

WHat's the difference in the 718 vs 718A1 body extension. I have seen lots of these over the years and never saw any variation between them....

Re: State of the M-151 hobby

I know I am late to the game on this post but I will toss in my 2 cents. I have had my 718 for about 10 years now. The hobby around the M151 has changed a lot even in that small amount of time. Back when I got in to these trucks, there was(and still is on the 503) a forum section about modifications...

Doesn't having the throttle closed result in lower numbers?

Re: Transfr Case Oil

I used GL 4 oil in the trans when I first rebuilt the 718. 4 years later on a fluid change it was shimmering with bronze. This happened on an old tractor I had as well. After that, I simply don't trust any of the modern oils. Despite what the labels say about being yellow metal safe, I can prove the...

Flat tow question

So I have a vets day event about 6 miles from the house and am considering flat towing the 718 there(driving it is not an option). I have the military tow bar with the correct feet and pins. The question is the steering. Has anyone flat towed a 151 before? Any experiences you could share? I know som...

Lot of folks excited about this auction on the armor forums I am in. That level of toy is way over my pay grade and the town I live in but it sure is fun to dream :)

Re: Interesting photo in this months Supply Line..

Lol, yes its got serial numbers. It's got a ton of hours on it(over 9k) and worn out steering. It also has nearly new pneumatic tires which alone was worth the price of admission. Since as is typical of this page folks always assume the worst I'll give you the whole story. And Rick, rather than mobs...

Re: Interesting photo in this months Supply Line..

I use both. I don't do FB for social crap but I use it a lot for vehicle hobby stuff. For example the Ferret Facebook page is more useful than any of the traditional Ferret websites by a wide margin. The local FB classified pages are usually a great place for deals too. I got a fully operational 6 t...

Interesting photo in this months Supply Line..

To all the folks who said it was never called a "MUTT", this is direct from ford according to the article. Considering this debate pops up here from time to time I thought I would share.
