RE: Fill Cap for M416A1 Master Cylinder

RE: Fill Cap for M416A1 Master Cylinder Wanted. A replacement master cylinder filler cap/plug for an M416A1 trailer (this is the trailer with the hydraulic over-ride brake system). At the weekend I decided it was time to check the brake fluid level even though the trailer hasn't been used for two ye...

Re: Dead batteries

If the batteries are more than 3-4 years old and they went flat for whatever reason then they are probably shot and will need replacing. A friend of mine sent me this link ages ago. I thought it sounded a bit like a snake oil solution so I didnt try it out. Has anyone seen this or better still, tri...

Re: The "King" has passed.

I bought several hard-to-obtain mutt parts from John when most of Europe had never even heard of the M151. He always took care to send exactly what I needed and his overall customer care was excellent. I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.

Re: Door Safety Strap Attachment?

Now, I only need one unless I add a loop to my seat, chich would involve cutting the seat back canvas or adding a loop to the dor opening or wheel well front to accept a strap. Before you do anything rash, check out the photos of the very first batches of M151s as shown in TM9-2320-218-10 dated May...

You might want to check with Ken but I am pretty sure it was both seats. I don't think they came out with the two position seats until the A1.
Rick,
yes, both front seats were screw-adjustable.

Re: 1962 Ford M151 Restoration

Meanwhile, I am still obsessing over the footman loop size and placement. Joining that crisis is the placement and hardware for the reflectors. Mine being early, has weldnuts and 10/24 screws for the footman loops. And while double checking that, I realized that my reflectors have weld nuts and 1/4...

Re: USMC MERDC and Unit Markings Question

That lozenge shape is the 3rd Marines. The number inside the lozenge is the "loading" number. That's what I was told by David C....the Equipment Specialist (Light Fleet) at MARCORSYS Command, Albany, Ga. some years ago. If you intend to change your vehicle to USMC format, don't forget that...

Re: Paint problem/issue/question.

Bill,

you should be able to get that color mixed by an auto paint supplier-manufacturer.
Earth Yellow uses the Federal Standard 595B paint code which is FS 30257. Any good company will have access to the FS and will know how to mix it for you.
