Re: USMC M416 trailer

Nope, we're good. I do have one question on the cover plate for the embilical cord connection cover. On my M762, the cover is bolted with tiny machine screws and small nuts, but there are some holes that you can't get a nut on the bolt from the inside of the cover. I presume the holes in the drawbar...

Re: No Electrical Working

A little embarrassing to admit, but worked on a fellow club members M37 24v yesterday and could not get the electrical working. Bubba had painted the negative battery cable terminals red and we hooked them up to the positive and chased our tail for a while until we figured out that we had the truck ...

Re: USMC M416 trailer

Great job on the M4116 trailer. Interesting that the USMC had a flat bed version of the M416 trailer known as the M762. Same frame and rolling chassis parts, just with a flatbed and splashshields on the fenders to enclose them. I'm using 762 fenders on my 416 project as they had little steps on the ...

Re: No Electrical Working

I don't see your photo, but here is one of my connections in the battery box. Negative battery cable must go to good ground. If you run a multi meter from positive battery ternimanl and to anywhere on the frame, you should be completing the circuit.. Now you know what I know.

Re: Enlarged data plate MV display sign

He is a member of the Dixie Division, the AL affiliate of the MVPA. He reached out to me as President of the GA MVPA to put a blurb in our newsletter about his service. I have not seen and numbers or what material the signs are made out of, but the data plate information looks sharp. At club events,...

Re: Trailer Salad Followed Me Home

So, I found a good home for the flat bed and sub frame. A forum member has traded for the lunette tower and the lift bars. I converted the M762 fenders to go on a M416 tub. So I'll end up with a M416 salad, but a pretty close one. The 762 fenders have reinforcement mounts fore and aft of each fender...

Re: Coil interchangeability?

I've got that plastic dog eared coil shown in my previous post photo that is available if it would help as an organ donor. I've also got my weeping coil that I have posted a pic of, I believe that I can remove and donate to the research if that helps.

Let me know.

Re: Dropping cylinders?

I'm putting all the parts I have in a sip lock bag with the absorbent packs and keeping it in the MUTT tool box as spares. I am being a little gun shy on this MUTT for the next month or so as it starts and runs and I can move it in and out of the shop as space requirements dictate. Perhaps one week ...

Re: Dropping cylinders?

Put original coil and original EI module back in and tested for spark. My son, (let's call him Curley) reports good spark. Still would not start and sounded like it wasn't getting spark. But Curlee (the one with burned fingers) reported good spark. So, hit it with some starting fluid and up she fire...

Re: Coil interchangeability?

I know just enough about this subject to be classified as an ignoramoose at Cracker Barrel. But two random thoughts. One, if these Chinese coils are such crap and some have gone through several, isn't there one out there that someone can cut open and see what the electronics are inside one? And, two...
