Re: Sunday 151 Ride - 2021

Guy,
I would like to meet you there to put a real person behind the name. I will be vending and will have a M416 trailer for sale. Look for a 25 mast with an American flag.

Re: Beverly Hillbillies, Part Deux

I used the tow dolly to take my M151(1st gen) from Boston to the Great Smoky MT's and return. It towed very well but very hard to back up. I did find out due to the back end being very light, the real wheels tucked in and the tires wore unevenly. not bad for short distances but it was over 2000 mile...

Fuel pump rebuilding

Recently my fuel pump failed. While I have a base M151, I had installed a M151a2 mechanical pump. I took the pump apart and found that the main diaphragm was intact. However the shaft that connects the diaphragm and the activator arm was disconnected. It is help in position with a rubber disk with a...

Re: Another USMC Trailer

Sorry to take so long to answer your questions. 1) the tie-downs are welded to the frame on both sides of the round section. 2) this is the 25th trailer I have worked on. This is only the second USMC M416B1 that I have had. 3)About 50% have been bought at auctions They come from GSA, Govdeals.com an...

Another USMC Trailer

FS M416 trailer

And now for something different. I have refreshed a Fire Department trailer. It was stored inside in New Hampshire and used to transport extra hose for "Woods" fires. It had a 1/2 height tailgate that I replaced. It is two pieces of 3/4" PY plywood bonded and bolted together. I also i...

Re: Wanted: M416 A1 rear light bracket

LED lights may be better if they work but sometimes the LED will not work without some circuit modifications on some vehicles. I have not tried LED lights in my M416 trailers with military lights. They do work better on trailers pulled by non-military vehicles. Most of my trailers have had original ...
