Re: Beverly Hillbillies

Also found this heavy duty cast impeller (and have absolutely no idea what it used to be part of) and decided not to use the Model A truck wheel as a pedestal base because, as much as I like the look of it, it was going to be a lot more work getting it at least reasonably presentable, it was far les...

Re: Beverly Hillbillies

Found this on one of my junkin' expeditions the other day.

Kinda makes me wonder where the rest of the truck got off to.

Re: Beverly Hillbillies

AH-HA! A Model A truck wheel! I knew I had one around here somewhere! Dropped this off at W.W. Tire to have the tire dismounted. They were busier than a one-armed wallpaper hanger so, I suppose it will have to wait till Monday to see it done. I will power wash it, being careful not to remove too muc...

Re: Beverly Hillbillies

Hit the ground runnin' today... Replaced an inner tube on the kid's bicycle (and delivered it to his workplace). Spent a little time working on the tractor-seat-thingy for the Doc. The gear is from a big synthetic web load binder and here, serves to support the seat from rocking while one large bolt...

Whipped up another section of creepy "iron" fence yesterday...and have the first coating (simulated corrosion) applied. That's the off-white stuff.

Re: M762 Question

Ratings are usually based upon Axle, Wheels, Suspension and Hitch/Coupler. Thus, the lightest rating for any one of those four things (rather than the highest) would be the determining factor.

Got my voting out of the way and now I feel I can rightfully ignore the mayhem that's going on and focus my efforts on all the other projects I have at hand. Feels real good to have done it. Last night I visited the center of the MOPAR universe (right here in Boerne...who wudda thunk it!?). One of t...

Re: Beverly Hillbillies

Hit the estate sale of a Korean War vet on Saturday. He had a nice library so I picked up a few good books. I thought more about what I didn't buy and so, returned on Sunday. The nice ladies there told me to take them ALL if I wanted them ( for FREE! ) and provided me with the Rubbermaid containers ...
