Re: Fire Vulnerability

Actually, the gas tank rests on the flange around the circumference of the tank, so there is an air space between the top of the jeep flooring and the bottom of the tank, so you dont get much heat transfer. No worries.

Re: Zenith Accelerator Pump Assy

All of the carbs i have have the recessed nipple style power valve. When i rebuild a carb i never have issues with the other style valve. Why is there two style valves anyway??

Re: Zenith Accelerator Pump Assy

Not one of the carbs have that number and i dont think the diaphragm has enough push to overcome the spring in that valve to squirt gas into the carb throat. I can easily see the other style is opened by the diaphragm pushing on that nipple and opening the valve. Vaccuum would be the same in all the...

Re: Engine won;t shut off

hot lead in constant contact with distributor....i would leave the distributor disconnected till you find the mistake in the connections to save the coil.

Zenith Accelerator Pump Assy

Im looking for a source for the accelerator pump assembly that is activated by the diaphragm. It is located under the diaphragm cover. I have 10 old carbs that the little nipple on the accelerator pump valve does not protrude so the diaphragm cant open it to allow gas to flow through upon accelerati...

Re: No fuel to the carburetor

Just had a problem with my A2 this spring...would start, idle but not move, so i thought it was the fuel pump cuz it was a real weak woosh into the clear filter. Turned out to be the rubber fuel line just prior to the pump from the tank after the steel line, the outer covering had crumbled an allowe...

Re: Incorrect carburetor inlet fittings

I know the inlet thread to the carb is a straight runnng thread and most fittings are NPT or tapered pipe thread..."pipe fitter for 45 years", sooooo where do you obtain the correct fitting with a straight thread and the locknut on it. I also noticed the locknut has a sealing element to it...

Re: Ignition module compatability

Is the swiss module compatible with both rotor cams,as the trigger wheel is the pick up for the module. On the Prestolite module, the pickup is the rotor cam. My understanding from looking at manual pics is that the prestolite module only works with the fluted cam rotor, but the Swiss module works with...

Ignition module compatability

Are the Swiss module and Prestolite module interchangeable in both distributor types, that is the type with the cam rubbing block for breaker points and the style designed for the swiss module???

Re: 12 v distributor ID

The body is identical to that of a 151 that is waterproof, the shaft is similar to a 151. An m38 has a long shaft like an mb/gpw. So definitly not m38 or cj, definitely military.
