Dimensions of MCI-Ration's can needed
Hello everybody,
for a 3D-printing project I need the dimensions (outer diameter and height) of those old MCI-Rations cans, especially the big D-Ration can (Fruit Cocktail, sliced peaches, Halved Apricots or Quartered Pears). Theese are smaller in diameter an height than the big M-Ration cans.
Anyone out there who can help me out??
thank you all

We were eating C-rats in Vietnam and some were dated from WWII! Most were dated from Korea.
No offense Dr. T but if I never see another C-rat, real or otherwise it will be too soon!!!! And modern soldiers complain about MRE's!

C-Rations.....anyone that ate them have their favorite stories. My “favorite” were Ham and eggs, the fruitcake. Why ? Because no one else did. The chocolate “John Wayne” candy bar was yummy. Since I was a non-smoker, I could trade those 4 smokes for fruit cans. We ate the stuff...because we were hungry and C-Rats were only thing available. The P-38 can opener.
Why P-38? Took 38 twists of wrist and Shazam the can was open.

Re: Dimensions of MCI-Ration's can needed
here are the dimensions for the individual MCI boxes. the lid, where the meal type is printed, is 77mm deep X 153 mm wide. the flap for the lid is 27mm deep X 153 mm wide, with notches at each corner. the front of the box is 153mm wide X 120 mm tall. the side of the box is 77mm deep X 120mm tall. there are flaps on each side of the lid that measure 75mm X 50mm. these are notched slightly on the front edge, to facilitate closing the lid. the can dimensions are as follows: large can, 75mm diameter X 88mm tall. medium can 75mm diameter X 50mm tall. small can 75mm diameter X 20mm tall. i took several pictures, which i can send you if you give me your email address in a private message, but i haven't been able to figure out how to post the pictures here. the pictures include an original accessory pack, of the type that included cigarettes.

Re: Dimensions of MCI-Ration's can needed
Thank you 199th mp for the dimensions.
Unfortunatelly exactly those dims i asked for, the large D-Unit can, are missing.
The large D-Unit cans conains fruit coctail, sliced peaches, pears etc.
The diameter is less than the large M-Units but the same height.
Hopefully you can add them here...
thank you all!

Thanks a lot Mark!

You're welcome, the fruit cocktail can was bulged out as it appears to have built up pressure inside, why, no idea.I sure would not eat it, though I can remember eating C rats 15--20 years old while in the Marines
