Re: Newbie M151A1
TJ,
I have a substantial amount of automotive experience. I was a mechanic in the army plus I have a background of mechanic work when I was younger.
Having said that, I've not actually used those skills since the early 90's so I'm going to say they are quite rusty.
The more I look at the 1/4 ton the more stuff comes back to me.
I'm not in a hurry and I WILL use EVERY resource available to me to return this old veteran to what is was.
I'm probably about 3-4 weeks away from actually getting the old girl on jack stands and getting started.
I know absolutely NOTHING about how long it's been since it last ran or why it's isn't running or any other history of the vehicle.
I will not lift a wrench or any other tool until I am confident that what ever step I'm on has been researched and vetted. I really don't want to screw this up.
I am truly grateful for all of the advice and support I have received from Ya'll... THANK YOU...
I was the PARTS king in the army... I could use a parts manual and the AMDEF and find anything in the military system so that should not be an issue.
Finding the parts in the civilian world might be another issue... ha ha ha
I have a notebook Ya'll and I'm taking notes...
I'm attaching a few more photos of the project...
Thanks again Ya'll...

Re: Newbie M151A1
Greetings,
I've taken over 100 pictures of this project already.
So pictures should not be a problem.
I can get any pictures Ya'll might require in 24 hours or less.
If it's daylight outside... less... ha ha ha
Thanks Ya'll...
I appreciate all of your input and assistance.

Re: Newbie M151A1
That right rear shot tells me you have a straight 151, 1960-1963. The front floor drains should be oval shaped. Would like to see a shot of the rear suspension from the rear and maybe a couple of the center of the underneath. The front cross member is gone but it does not look to bad behind that. Don't zoom in too close, sometimes real close is too close and can't get a good overall look at it. I am looking for the cause of the extreme camber in the rear. I am thinking missing or wrong rear shocks.

Is that reflector covering the hole for the B/O light?, seems to be right where the hole is??

Re: Newbie M151A1
I'm thinking that's an A1. If it were 151, that rib would run across and under the reflector. Unless someone did some body work, I think it's A1.

Could have had a plate welded over it. Looking at the pic it looks like there might be a ragged edge there. Rick, what kind of floor drains are in the front floors?

Rick, look at the top right of the page just below the header. Did you receive a Private Message? (PM)

Re: Newbie M151A1
I did. I replied but it seems that it was sent via email.
I can't seem to figure out how to reply...
I've hovered over every button that I could find...
I know it's staring me in the face... I just can't see it...

Re: Newbie M151A1
Okay. let's build some new skills. Since you know the message is from me let's take a shortcut to sending me a reply.
Look over to the right of this post (the one you're looking at right now).
See "CONTACT"? below my name and some other data? Alongside that is a little voice bubble with three dots in it.
Click on that voice bubble and you'll see two options. Another voice bubble (actually a voice box) for private messages and an image of an envelope for email (provided the member has supplied an email to the site) will appear.
Click on the voice box. By doing this you will have automatically selected me as a recipient of your new private message and all that would be left to do is type in your response and hit send.
This is very useful when you want to make an immediate, private response.....say, like when a member has offered something for sale and you want to jump on it hoping to be first in line to buy it.
Squared away?
Cheers,
TJ

Re: Newbie M151A1
That could be the trouble but I don't know how many posts he has to have before being fully privileged.
