I have a hard top for mine but i don't use it anymore.

With the ROPS and the hard top, the center of gravity shifts up a little and the chance for roll is slightly increased. I nearly rolled a few times on spots that with out the hard top and ROPS I never had a problem. :o

It's kind of a kunudrum. The ROPS is designed to save you in a roll over but at the same time increases you chance of one. I go completely topless most of the time with the windshield down. I off road that way too and get into some tricky stuff and have never felt too uncomfortable. I guess if i was going to do some extreme stuff i would put the ROPS back on.

Just my 2 cents worth. :)

I'll post some pics later to jog your memory kb0jyl.

MUTTVet, once the hubby gets his A2 fixed and registered the way he wants it. I get the (running) A1 free and clear to do with as I wish. I'm not going to be doing any off-roading (with the top on at least) in it, but I do want the hard top so it will complete my 'scheme' I have in store for it. Right now it has the woodland camo paint job, and once it is all mine, I'll be redoing the paint job with the 'winter/snow' camo scheme. I've seen the solid OD green and camo paint jobs at MV shows. (I even think someone is planning on doing the Desert camo job on their 151 soon) I've never seen a Winter/Snow camo paint job on a 151 at an MV show before, and I want mine to stand out when I take it. ;) So I need the hard top to complete the look. ;)

I have never seen a winter cammo in US service. Not saying it does not exist but it was a little warmer where I was! :?

I don't rightly care if it was never used in the US or not. I'm gonna do it anyways, cuz I'm just that much of a crazy lady! ;)

winter camo was used off and on in Germany during the cold war. usually it was white over a tan or yellow base color. it wasn't very consistant though, some years they left the vehicles green or woodland camo too....

From what I understand he scrapped all of those hard tops! Scrap was up and they weren't moving. We may not like it but when you are in business you have to think profit. I would check anyway but that is what I heard. I just gave away a NOS hard top with all the hardware. I am not about to drill that many holes in my mut for a top I would have on for three months.
