Damn Top, I didn't realize I had a connoisseur in the group. Usually when I mention Dickle, most folks say "what"? Hence the abbreviated description for my favorite intoxicating beverage . On Memorial Day after the parades are over, I buy a round of shots of Dickle (white) for my family and friends as a salute to those vets and family that have gone before us. It has now exceeded a full bottle of Dickle at American Leigon Post 281. I've been known to do Ezra Brooks in a pinch as a high quality 90 proof substitute at half the price, but never ever on Memorial Day :)

Rainman, Ezra Brooks is one I don't know. Never had spent much time in bars but will have to try some. George and Jack have been faithful friends for many years. Use to prefer some single malts, Macallan, and Bushmills being the best of the lot in my view, but the 2 American Tennessee whiskys are so much smoother.
Which brings us back to the subject of this thread-'Why or why not keep this forum'
If we started to steal this thread back in the G503 we would have been blasted by the moderator at the time, John, who loved to shove us around. RickF would have been banned {again} and probably me too
{BTW John the moderator is an Austrailian, doesn't own a M151 and even told me once I was playing the VN vet game. REALLY ! VN Game?. I flew and fought with the RAAF on some missions and they were all great guys and kept very cool heads in the deepest of sh*t. They even took afternoon tea breaks on missions. Incredible people!}
Anyway,I had PMed Ron about this attitude and it turns out he was the one who supported it so, even published my very private PM on the site so F them. Here Moose and the moderators allow our old minds to wander down memory lane uninhindered by thread police. For this alone the G838 has proven to be THE place for us and our 'outlaw' jeeps.
As it was so well said early on the G838 was not the problem. It was the solution to the problem.

Hard stuff to swallow ( Jack and all ), I like scotch on the rocks myself. But in Gulfport, we mixed wine and beer. Went for quanity instead of quality. Remember the mermites on the back of our jeeps? Those were actually Seabee beer holders. Seabee
