Is this an A2 harness

Unread post by Roboskid » May 26th, 2015, 10:03 pm

When I got my 1963 A1 it came with a wiring harness. My question to the experts is this an A1 or A2 harness?

hi

there is big aluminum tag on the harness

M151 /M151 A1/ M151A1C/ M718
front harness 25 AMP generator 10950980
front harness 60 AMP alternator 11630520
rear harness both 10950981

M151A2/ M718 / 825
front harness 11660451
rear harness 11644896

for the M151 there is a wire number 77 ( pump ) at the front and rear harness
for the M151 A2 there is a wire number 71 (wipers ) at the front harness

i think it A2 you have
look at the wire with the extra isolation on it it is for the wipers

greetings George

Thank you very much George your are correct I have an A2 front and rear harness. I found the metal tags with parts numbers you listed. Since I just aquired a A2 and Bubba butchered the harness in places I have now have the correct harness to repair. I guess I am going to bite the bullet and purchase a harness from Wiring Harness of Maine for my 63 Willys restore.

Let us know what Vintage Wiring,s price is up to now. It seems to jump exponentially every year only for the 151 harness's.

Murray had a NOS A1 harness at Mt Dora quite reasonable.
Worth a call.

That would be who he means, He did not have it at Aberdeen although he did have a NOS diff for 275.00.

Just shut off the "predictive " feature on my phone.
Now I am responsible for what I type.
That could prove interesting !!!

About 8 months ago I inquired about a harness from Wiring Harness of Maine and they quoted me 1100 BUCKS for a complete harness.....OUCH!

My phone has a mind of its own I swear it does.

Now compare that price to a M-38A1 which is just about the same harness. About half that price! He knows that he is the only one making them and he knows you need it. Just one of the reasons I may consider selling mine when I retire and go with a different style.
