Project Jigsaw

Unread post by njjeeper » July 30th, 2015, 9:50 am

Not Mutt related but I thought I would post a few pics of the current project. A 1962 Ferret MK1/2. Im calling it Project Jigsaw because I didnt take it apart but I have to figure out how it goes back together. And being British engineered, Im not expecting an easy process!

I want to see this, you are my height and there is no way I can fit in a Ferret! Unless you have been heavily into Yoga recently it will be interesting.

Do you have ALL of the parts for it?

I think they use a Jaguar engine, which I can help you with. I've been doing British stuff for 30 years. The good news is the engines are built tough. The bad news is the Brits like to make things "unique". It seems like they are challenged to do something a new and different way, even though a perfectly simple way already exists. It looks like fun!

You'll have a good laugh (or cry) when you get to the Lucas electrical!!

No that was the Fox that was Jag powered. The Ferret was powered by a Rolls Royce B60 6 cyl. gas engine.

just out of curiousity, are you completely insane, or simply in transition mode towards that goal? i was at a highland games once, and the sign next to the british car display stated that you could tell you were following a british automobile by the high quality parts that fell of as you drove down the road. and good luck with the Lucas stuff---try not to set your hair on fire.

I have a friend with a barn full of old Triumphs including an old Stag. He says Lucas didn't invent the short circuit, they just perfected it.
