After re-reading the current "Why or why not keep this forum" thread, I was curious why a particular inflammatory, publicly posted and signed post that really "busted my boys" was not present. The reason is this parallel thread that ran concurrently with a poll. Many dealers continue to support our club and site, and some never did. Your results may vary, or NOT!

Jim, I agree it is water under the bridge, but YOUR bridge is still standing, and stronger than ever. You know I am a faithful member, and I appreciate not being censored, even when I'm pushing it a bit, as I may be now. Maybe reading this old time post will let some of the new members know where we came from, cuz Lord knows where we're going, and it'll be hell if we don't change our ways.:D This old "Stay Or Go" post said volumes to those who are faithful, and those that are not. Censor me or not, surpdlr is a surplus dealer aka Front Line. 8)

Well, OK , just to chime in. I joined both forums @ the same time. I do see a bit of anal retenavenis (?) on the 503 but hey, if you are a purist on you hobby, I am all in support of it, I see a bit of it here as well. This site feels a bit more as the Germans say, Gemütlich, (you Cold War guys know what that is).

The topic is moot, just wait 'till I get my truck on the road. Then you'll know why the gods made Moose start this thing.

I voted to stay up. I avoid G503 like the plague, too much baggage in the past. Far as I am concerned THIS is the only site to visit.

We just needed our own home, like our jeeps, our community is just a little bit different, a little bit outlaw, so that we don't fit in the boxes others have devised. Doesn't make them bad, doesn't make us bad either, we just needed our own place. So...here it is! Our guys are opinionated and passionate about our jeeps, with a mix of purists and mad modders, but we all have a sense of community and shared interests that allows us all to co-exist here. I've never seen a forum that needed as little moderation as ours. I appreciate each and every one of you, and I'm glad you chose to be here!

Just so no-one gets the wrong idea, we are not considering going anywhere, that decision was made long ago, and this site will remain as long as you guys continue to use it.

Well said Moose. You can say we all have MUTT brains, and proud of it. I appreciate this site and enjoy our visits, and learn something new each day , but not afraid to ask if I don't know. The humor ( however twisted ) is special and always welcomed, even when the subject is hijacked. Its just like a gathering of friends around the table at the VFW, with a pitcher of beer in the center for all to share. This has been a very healthy exchange of what was on everyones mind, so now we can move on to other things. Just one more thing. Remind us every so often about the portal to send in financial support. My Mutt brain forgets if not stimulated. Thank you, Seabee

As a newer member....I felt I owed it to research and read (all six pages of this thread) and exam all the fussing with G503 and G838, discussion...etc.....

From where I sit, this site is by far the better of the two. Heck seems to me that the G503 needs to have an intervention to survive!! Not us here!! ha, ha!!

Thanks Moose, we all truly appreciate your efforts on our behalf... and Joe, thanks for the sense of history for reading these old dredged up topics. It was all very trivial in the spectrum of life, but passionate none the less. Better to be pissed off, than to be pissed on, I always say. It's amazing they even let me hang around here, but I'm tolerated at least. I burned my bridges so you guys on "The 8" are stuck with my clever wit.

OMG (text language) it took forever to read all the comments. All I can say is this group gets my vote to continue. You have all been very good at accepting all types of members, both purists and users and modifiers, and not getting pissy over their (or my) comments.
Get mad, have a barley pop, move on or crash. Keep this forum alive.

just read the text in all the posts on this thread. Hmmmm.

I like the site just fine.

This site has been very informative with the ongoing work on my rolloverbuggy.

I was banned on G503. I do not go there. Ever.

I was also banned over on ar15dotcom. I am rather proud of that ...what with not being a thirteen year old mall ninja or a wannabe. I never go there either.

Oh...I have also been banned over on the "Dimokratik Underground," (the DU,) several times. Even my proxy accounts. I am sure i will be banned
from THERE again in the future.

I moderate on several other (non-MV) boards and sometimes the BS... there... rises so fast, you gotta have wings to stay above it. There must be rules.

This site works fine...keep it that way. My two cents. OMGM.

Why should this go when there is so much knowledge and passion from members on this site for the preservation of these historic Military Vehicles? This is a no brainer. It needs to stay.
I'm a newer person, but that's my 2 cents.
